KidsLightingUniverseThe Gecko lamp is a fun and whimsical piece that is designed to stand out. The Gecko lamp frame is wrapped in abaca twine, with the feet and the tip of the tail exposed, giving the lamp definite contrast.
The shade is made from "fossilized" cocoa leaves, where cocoa leaves are dried for three to four months, then the leaves are hand rubbed removing the chlorophyll and leaving only the skeleton behind. The cocoa leaves are then dyed using organic dyes, adhered to the backing, and hand cut by artists so no leaves overlap.

Note: Make sure the Gecko hood opening faces right side up or upside down in order to vent the heat from the light bulb. Hanging the lamp sideways or sitting it on a flat surface can cause the shade to fade or damage since the heat is trapped within the shade.
