Q: Does this light mount at the ceiling then hang by a chain so it can be hung in the middle of a room? Or is it more of a corner chandelier that connects to an electrical outlet?

A: It can do both. It does come with a canopy to mount to a junction box. If you want it as a swag, all you have to do is add a plug to the end of the cord.
